We are a group of undergraduate students dedicated to the design of seismically resilient structures. We build a five-foot-tall structure made of balsa wood to compete in the annual EERI (Earthquake Engineering Research Institute) Undergraduate Seismic Design Competition. Throughout the year we plan, design, and construct multiple structures to perfect our final competition model. At competition, our structure is tested on a shake table to see how it performs. We host professional development workshops, social events, and philanthropy events. We are able to showcase our skills, network with industry professionals, and gain real-world experience in tackling seismic design challenges.
